This week’s challenge was offered to us by Tina Schell over at Travels and Trifles.
I find picking five of my favorite photographs challenging to say the least… how would I pick a favorite child, or children!
I decided to go with photographs that represent scenes that are important in my daily life. Ones that bring me joy, uplift me, and remind me of the quiet stillness I experience when looking through the lens.

“Driftwood sculpture “- Capitola, California ….. My haven for over fifty years. The place I keep coming back to.

“Discovery” – The tender connection between a parent and their child. A magical moment in very special place …beneath the Capitola Wharf.

“Blue Heron going after anchovies” – Santa Cruz Harbor. A place to go for walks, be with nature and do a reset.

“Bicycles Wheels ” – Ever since I was a young child cycling has been one of my most favorite things to do… freedom
This image also catches my love of mechanical designs. I often find that black and white photography can enhance lines, shapes and patterns in a very distinct and unencumbered way.

“Playing with Vincent” – Impressionism and Expressionism are my favorite periods in painting.
In this image I wanted to play with colors, take the image beyond self (and societal) imposed constraints of what photographs are supposed to look like.
A sense of play and freedom.
