Sometimes
while walking in a place we’ve never been before
without even looking for anything in particular
we come upon a treasure.
A gift
in the middle of the afternoon
a moment to pause and be still.
Thank you Tina for your invitation to this week’s Lens-Artists Challenge: Treasure Hunt. Even though I was only wandering in the city, not “hunting” for treasures, these managed to find me.
St. Dominic’s Catholic Church
Established 1873
San Francisco, California
Thank you, and it does remind me of cathedrals I’ve seen in Europe. This church has been through several incarnations having been destroyed by the 1906 earthquake and badly damaged in the one that occurred in 1989. The first small church was blessed in 1873 and has grown over the years, with the final reconstruction and reinforcement finalized in 1992. A church of many lives 🙂
Yes, a treasure… very peaceful place to hang out in the middle of the day. Curious what it is about the votive lights that was most surprising for you. Would you share?
